ISTIIS 2024International Symposium on Technological Innovations for Industry and Society

This symposium is supported by project be@t – Textile Bioeconomy, that has received funding from the Environmental Fund through Component 12 – Promotion of Sustainable Bioeconomy (Investment TC-C12-i01 – Sustainable Bioeconomy No. 02/C12-i01/202), of European funds allocated to Portugal by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), within the scope of the European Union (EU) Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, framed in the Next Generation EU, for the period 2021 – 2026.

The International Symposium on Technological Innovations for Industry and Society (ISTIIS) aims to gather industry and academy researchers, practitioners, and experts to discuss and showcase innovative technology solutions that positively impact industry and society.

Technological innovations play a critical role in driving progress and growth in industry and society. However, it is essential to recognise that technology encompasses more than just Information Technology (IT). There are a variety of technological solutions that have the potential to create positive impacts on industry and society, whether they involve digital technologies or not.

This symposium invites submissions of original research papers, case studies, reviews, and surveys on innovative technological solutions in various industries that address the challenges faced by society. We welcome contributions that explore a range of technical solutions, including those that are digital, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics and automation, as well as those that are not digital, such as technical materials (e.g., textile) sustainable and circular economy technologies and medical and healthcare technology innovations.

Authors can present their work and disseminate results from financial projects, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking among researchers, practitioners, and industry experts. The symposium is focused on showcasing practical solutions attained from research and innovative processes that can address the challenges faced by industry and society.

Authors can present their work and disseminate results from financial projects. ISTIIS is a platform for knowledge sharing, receiving feedback, collaboration, and networking among researchers, practitioners, and industry experts. The symposium is focused on showcasing practical solutions attained from research and innovative processes that can address the challenges faced by industry and society. Authors of Accepted papers will be able to share their work, discuss results, and receive feedback through traditional presentations (e.g., slides) or exposition (stand).

The symposium aims to bring together industrial and academic perspectives, fostering a stimulating discussion on the potential of technology to drive positive change in industry and society. We encourage authors to share their experiences, insights, and solutions towards building a better and sustainable future while considering technological advancements' ethical and social implications.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and engaging in fruitful discussions on the diverse range of technological solutions that have the potential to drive positive change in industry and society.
